The Devil who loved me Episode 1

STORY: The Devil Who Loved Me | Complete Episode 1 To 40 (All In One)...

He pounded away.
It was the same away he did it every time…pull my clothes, pull his trousers…suck my n-----s and tell me how beautiful I am before he starts pounding. I looked at him with his yes closed and wondered what must have made me like him. It definitely wasn’t his money; I was a lot richer than him….maybe it was because he was funny?
I looked at him as he closed his eyes and beads of sweat formed above his brows; all I could wish for was for his to c-m on time. Today was to special for me to stop him halfway. Suddenly he let out that all too familiar groan that signaled his much awaited release. His hold on the top of the mattress beside my head became firmer, and then he started his epileptic-like movement as he came.
Acho: Tee, you are so sweet
Me: get up, I have to clean myself, hope your bathroom is clean. Running water?
Acho: Yes it is.
He made himself a cup of milo as I strode along to the bathroom.
Me: So how was your trip to Oshogbo on Wednesday?
Acho: it was okay, my friends send their regards. So where will we go to tonight?
Me: nowhere, I will be going home.
Acho: but its, Friday, no lectures now, lets go and eat fish.
Me: I heard about you and yewande, that you guys have been boinking all over.
I came out of the bathroom, headed into his kitchen to see if I could eat something. Immediately he joined me in the kitchen with rage in his eyes
Acho: I cant believe you are listening to all those bad-belle people that want to see us apart. Wicked and jobless people.
Me: Heartless people!
Acho: you know its only you..
His arms were around me, he started kissing my neck, I could feel his d--k starting to get hard again.
Acho: You know I can never do that to us, I am so lucky to have you.
Me: awwwww adorable.
Acho: so will you go out tonight with me?
Me: How did you happen to be at Oshogbo and Ijebu-ode together?
Acho: I don’t understand you.
Me: My uncle owns an hotel in Ijebu-ode, my cousin is the manager. He saw you come in on Wednesday. He still recognizes you from my birthday party.
Acho: he must be mistaken, I wasn’t at ijebu-ode. He cant be too sure, many people look like me.
Me: anyways, he said he was sure you were gonna deny so he snapped you from a distance, while you were beside the pool with a lady.
I brought out my phone and showed him the pictures.
Me: that is your favorite shorts yeah?…i dunno why you like it sef
Acho was speechless for a while, he wanted to talk but the words seemed elusive.
Me: don’t worry…we are cool.
Acho: I am so sorry, I love you. She was all over me and i…
Me: don’t worry, I understand. Sometimes I can be a difficult gf.
Acho: Tee, we can get through this…I swear it was a one time thing..
Me: is that yewande? She has nice boobs oh.. hope you didn’t tweak her n-----s too much like you do mine? I tell you that s--t hurts..
Acho: babe, stop naa, you are scaring me.
Me: relax Acho..
Acho: if you knew since Wednesday, why are you just telling me now, why allow me make love to you.
Me: first, that wasn’t love making, it was just s-x, secondly, I rather break up with you to your face.
Acho: babe please…what will I be without you?
I laughed, there was nothing edible in his kitchen.
Me: now that we have confirmed that you didn’t use the 20k I gave you in Oshogbo, can I have it back? Except you used it for Ijebu-ode..then I understand.
Acho sat down on his mattress, he looked defeated.
Me: see me off to the bus-stop, its time for me to bounce!
Acho: babe, is it really over….i mean just like that?
Me: Yes bae…
I wasn’t sad about the break-up, being single was something I felt was right for me at this moment in time. Moreover, the student union government elections were around the corner, Abayomi wanted to be the President and had approached me to be his vice. Not like I agreed with all his policies or was really crazy about being elected, I saw it as an opportunity to do something’s differently, another icing in the cake is that no igbo-girl had been the vice-president of the school. I liked breaking bounds.
Checking my phone as I got home, I saw 22 missed calls from my Acho, 1 from my dad, and some bbm and whatsapp messages. I called my dad.
Me: goodevening daddy
Dad: evening dear, how are you?
Me: I am fine, I got the alert, thank you.
Dad: when are you coming home? It’s been two months since we saw you, abi lagos they bite you?
Me: dad, you know exams starts in 2 months, I can’t miss any lectures now.
Dad: this has to do with that election abi, your sister told me. Why not just focus on your studies? Remember your school is in the southwest, you don’t stand a chance.
Me: I also know I am a student of the school, with all the qualifications to run for electable positions.
Dad: I hear it’s very violent during elections, cultists and all
Me: I am not a cultist so they have no problem with me.
Dad: okay o, hold on for your mother..
Mum: Tana, my dear..how are you?
Me: I am good mum.
Mum: how are your studies, what of Acho?
Me: studies is good, I and Acho have broken-up.
Mum: what happened? I like that boy o..very respectful.
Does Yewande’s mum utter the same rubbish wherever she is? I thought to myself
Me: I just wanna focus on school now, boys have too much wahala
Mum: that’s good my dear, make sure you go for mass too, only degrees won’t take you to heaven o..
Me: I know ma..mum I have to go now, my indomie is burning..
I felt a pinch of guilt for lying to her, but I had to. She could talk on the phone for hours, I wasn’t in the mood for that now.
I went to the kitchen to make myself some creamy lunch made of cereals when my phone rang, I made up my mind to ignore the call if it was my mum. That woman can worry somebody ehn…
It was Abayomi.
Abayomi: We are to meet some people for fundraising this evening, please you have to be there.
Me: where?
Abayomi: Babis
Me: okay, I will be there boss.
Abayomi: you can bring your boyfriend.
Me: you mean Yewande’s boyfriend..
Abayomi: I don’t understand.
Me: he was f-----g her at my back
Abayomi: that guy ehn, people can be stupid o..how can he cheat on somebody like you. If you had agreed to date me when we were in 100 level, all this rubbish….
Me: how is Toun my friend? I am sure you would never cheat on her
Abayomi: never..now that you are single…
Me: how is Kofo?
Abayomi: why are you asking me about Kofo?
Me: because I know you have been f-----g her behind your girlfriend.
Abayomi: chai, who told you?
Me: I have my sources
Abayomi: me and Kofo are just close friends, you know she helps with our campaign?
Me: by f-----g everybody to vote for us?..loooolz
Abayomi: you know I hate you abi?
Me: I know Abayomi, but its only me that tells you the truth. Toun is my friend, if you don’t call it quits with kofo A.K.A universal charger, I will tell Toun.
Abayomi: you are mean, mean as hell!
Me: I know sugar, that’s why I am your padi-padi
Abayomi: carry your wahala dey go…see you tonight, don’t be late o..
Me: aii bro.. muah
Abayomi: yeye girl.
Abayomi was my best friend; I could do almost anything for him. We almost dated while in 100 level, but he was too serious with school and politics…I liked him because ultimately he was a good guy at heart, had a G.P.A that could make your parent disown you and adopt him and he was kind.
I was surprised when he had insisted I be his vice for the elections. I didn’t think I had the pre-requisites. I am igbo, I don’t have many friends, I was relatively young at 21, I hadn’t ever showed interest in politics. But he had insisted that I would help him swing all the non-Yoruba votes to our camp, because most of them wanted a voice at the government. He also said I was the only one he could trust.
Our opponents was radical figure, his nick-name was National, he had been class-rep of his department since I could remember, he was liked by lecturers and was a good orator. I doubted our chances of defeating him but I had to stand by Abayomi.

THE DEVIL WHO LOVED ME EPISODE 2

It was 9:30pm when I woke up from my sleep I immediately remembered that I had to be at babis for the fundraiser. The election was to hold in 6weeks time, though we had campaign posters all over the campuses (mini and main); National was having the upper hand. He had more financial power than Abayomi.
Abayomi came from what I would describe as an average family; his dad was a retired banker while his mum was a civil servant. My dad ran 8 big stores in Alaba international market. He dealt with the importation of Samsung and sharp electronics.
My dad didn’t go to secondary school talk less of a university. He came to Lagos immediately after the Biafran war, worked as a sales boy for Mr koledowo of blessed memory at idumota. Idumota was one of the biggest markets in the 70’s. Things went smoothly for a while until Mr koledowo’s wife died. He never really recovered from the shock. He himself died November 17th, 1979, leaving his store to my dad. Shortly after his demise, his family came to close the store leaving my dad with nothing. My dad had made some friends with some Ghanaians who were regular customers. Mr Antwi allowed my dad stay with his family provided that my dad worked for them for free. As providence would have it, in 1983 the Ghanaians were evicted from Nigeria. Though the government of Nigeria said it was due to economic hardships, my dad always maintained that it was a form of retaliation. In 1969, Nigerians had been evicted from Ghana. Once again, my dad inherited another man’s store. Fast forward to 2007, my 47 year old dad, Chief Dike was a millionaire; my mum was an house wife.
I had supported the elections financially even more than Abayomi, but it wasn’t enough. A lot of freshers adorned tee-shirts with National’s beaming smile on them. Even some girls in my compound had theirs, disloyalty!
I wouldn’t have been able to get to babis on time if I had boarded a taxi, I decided to meet John, my neighbor who had a car and could easily drop me off.
Me: john!
No reply…
I knocked his door but he didn’t open, I was forced to peep through the window because I could hear music from his one room apartment. Lying in bed was John, with his naked albeit a G-string girlfriend sprawled like an eagle beside him. Cans of sprite and a bottle of Johnny walker were nearby.
I walked to Itamerin bus-stop to get a bike to babis.
Babis was crowded when I got in, it was filled with most of the club guys and girls unwinding from the week long lectures. I skimmed the crowed until I saw Abayomi seated with some people just by the bar. I was squeezing myself for a way through the crowd when a hand pulls me back. Turning back I saw the slim body and apologetic smile of Acho.
Acho: I thought you said you were staying indoors tonight
Me: its really none of your business Acho
Acho: I see you have already forgotten about me
Me: you are kindha smart, now let go of my hand some people are waiting for me.
Acho let go immediately, ‘yahooze’ by olu-maintain was booming in the back-ground as a couple of students flooded the park that stood as the dance floor.
Acho: I will miss you
Me: I bet you will honey.
She continued walking to the area were Abayomi sat. he didn’t see her as he continued arguing fervently with somebody, she didn’t recognize the person nor the other people sitting around the table. It wasn’t long before Abayomi saw her and screamed.
Abayomi: you can be very annoying!, we have been here since 9pm, look at the time you are coming
Me: Ab, is that how to talk to a lady, your mum did a rotten job raising you
Abayomi: you papa left yansh!
Me: ishiewu
Abayomi: come and hug me jor
Me: body odour o….
I quickly scrutinized the people sitting around the table. Dada was at the right hand side of Abayomi, Kofo sat at his left with her fake lashes almost covering her eyes, Uche was holding a bottle of Gulder while Qudus sat at the corner. Seeing Uche there left me with an uneasy feeling, he was one of the boys that was feared in mini-campus where most of the science students of the university received their lectures. Those were the people I recognized, the others were unknown, and maybe they were from the main-campus.
Me: sorry I am late guys
Most people responded by saying don’t worry…its aii…no p…except Uche..he just smiled that wicked…no evil smile.
Uche was about 6’4, very big and hardly spoke. With the clampdown on cult activities by the state government, a lot of students were on the low-key, many denied the different confraternities they once flaunted, I couldn’t fix Uche in a group. I knew he was a computer-science student though.
Abayomi: wetin you go drink madam?
Me: Gordon spark and asun
Abayomi: I said drink not drink and eat, I resemble Acho
Me: oh sharraaaaaaap
After few pleasantries and drinks, we got down to business.
Abayomi: Tana, we have two sponsors that really want to invest in our campaign
Me: oh really…that’s nice..who are they?..
Abayomi: let me allow them speak for themselves…Michaela let her hear you..
I Looked at Michael and remembered him also. He was one of those geeks that had no money in 100L and 200L, but with internet runs, him and his type were all over the place. He still had bad dress sense though, like most geology students did.
Michael: Tana, you are as beautiful as ever…
I almost puked..
Me: oh, thank you dear
Michael: I am glad we would be supporting your campaign..
Me: the pleasure is all mine Mikolo
Michael: you too fine walahi!
Pretending to blush…buys can be dull mehnnn..
Me: Michael I am blushing, what do you have for us?
Michael: going straight to the point, I like that in a lady..you are…
Uche: Michael abi Mikolo you dey waste my time oh, wetin dey worry you sef, you neva see woman before?
I was both happy and uneasy..Michael seemed to swallow saliva.
Michael: we want to support the movement with 500,000naira
Me: wow..thats nice..
In my mind I was thinking he was dumb, what if we lost?..na gulf money be dat oh…come to think of it, I really needed a gulf-car.
Abayomi: it’s really nice and I assure you people, we will win.
Me: Michael, what do you want in return?
They always wanted something in return, some wanted seats in the senate, others wanted academic favours.
Michael: I want to be given the license to build the only Cyber-café in the SUG complex.
Abayomi shot a quick look at me; he wanted to see if I had a problem with it before I even spoke.
Me: That is huge Michael…
Abayomi: for 500,000 naira that is huge.
Michael: we would give the government 10% of the monthly profit..
Me: that is risky Michael, 10% for how long, Till our tenure is over?
Micheal: it will continue with your predecessors
Me: so they will collect 10% without having missed a heartbeat?
Michael: aren’t you doing this for the good for all?
Me: 600,000naira Michael
A couple of students crowded Michael to whisper into in his ears, I guess they were his advisers. He smiled after a while..
Michael: my people and I agree only in the condition that kofo is removed as campaign manager.
I looked at Michael and couldn’t stop myself from smiling.
Kofo: no way! Why do you want to do that…are you interested in my position?
Abayomi was calm, I knew he didn’t want to disappoint his side-chic at the same time we all knew she wasn’t a good campaign manager..
Abayomi: why do you want her off?
Michael: she doesn’t represent what we want to be associated with.
So yahoo boys get reputation too? I thought to myself
Abayomi: And that is?
I laughed and was immediately burnt by Kofo’s blazing eyes
Michael: let’s just say she is too cheerful and we are serious people. And she has no experience for the position.
Kofo: and who are you to decide that?
Abayomi: kofo, if you don’t have 600,000naira to give us now, I suggest you calm down, we would look for another position for you.
The respect I had for Abayomi quadrupled immediately, kofo sank low..
Me: and do you have a candidate in mind to replace her?
Michael: yes, we want somebody that is experienced, that is loved by all…from main to mini-campus, from ago-iwoye to ijebu-igbo..that has won all the elections he served as campaign manager for..
Me: and who is that?
Michael: we want Timi
I almost collapsed, out of everybody why Timi?..After everything, almost changing school because of him..
I wanted to talk but Abayomi spoke faster..
Abayomi: we agree, I will personally speak to him
Abayomi looked at me and smiled, this was his own way of revenge for the kofo debacle, plus he always liked Timi.
Michael: it’s a deal ladies and gentlemen.

My mind kept capturing Timi’s face though I tried shutting it down, I had to focus on the meeting. Abayomi ordered for more drinks but I wasn’t interested. He even teased me with asun, it didn’t work.
It was Uche’s time to talk; I wondered what someone like him would want from us. I also didn’t like the fact that Abayomi wanted to make a deal with people like him.
Uche: We will support the campaign, make it hitch free, protect you the candidates..wetin we want dey small compared to what we are giving in return.
I liked the way he switched from pidgin to English without breaking a sweat..nice..
Me: and what do you want oga bros..
He didn’t laugh, mumu boy..
Uche: not me, I am here with respect to a client..
Me: like you are working for someone, a student or who?
Uche: he rather not disclose his identity now.
Me: we can’t work with shadowy individuals.
Abayomi kicked me with his legs beneath the table
Abayomi: what does you client want?
Uche: he wants all the video gaming rights in mini-campus, he wants all the compact-disc selling rights in mini-campus, he also wants to open a restaurant.
Me: he doesn’t want lecture halls too?
Nobody laughed, nobody got the joke…
Abayomi: your client doesn’t want any of his businesses in the main-campus? That place is more lucrative. Instead of the monopoly, it will be easier for us to allow him have some in the mini and main-campus. What if we have a difficult senate that doesn’t approve?
Uche: he is also ready to offer you 1.4million naira
I saw the greed in Abayomi’s eyes…
Abayomi: who is he?
Uche: I can’t say for now, dat one no necessary
Me: we can’t assure an unknown person that we will give him all the rights, million or no million. What if we are dealing with a devil?
Uche: why don’t you think about it, Abayomi, you get my number abi?, call me na.
Without further ado, the meeting finished.
Uche stood up and was about living when kofo stood up.
Kofo: Uche, are you passing by olopomerin?
Uche: yes
Kofo: you have a car right?
Uche: yes..
Kofo: can you drop me off at home?
Uche: sure
I had to give it to kofo, she played it well. She got back at Abayomi for leaving her hanging out to dry. That car thingy too was deep, Abayomi was carless.
Abayomi tried focusing on his Star lager, but I could see he wasn’t enjoying it.
Me: Abayomi, oya come and stop taxi for me lemme go home.
He hissed at me and kept looking at Uche and kofo’s direction. Uche turned back almost immediately and looked at us with a wicked smile on his face. Just as they got to his car, he gave Kofo’s bums a soft pat she didn’t seem to mind.
Abayomi: I don’t think we should accept this Uche’s client’s offer
Me: looooool..because he is taking kofo home?
Abayomi: you dey mad
Me: Ab, free kofo..lets talk about Timi, you know I can’t work with him
Abayomi: its too late sis, I already texted him and he replied, he said he is interested.
Me: you couldn’t wait for both of us to discuss
Abayomi: 600,000 naira baby, I know your father can give us
Me: ode..i hope Uche fucks kofo’s lungs out tonigt
Abayomi: wetin concern me.
Me: no be your chic?
Abayomi: your friend Toun is my chic, for your information I am sleeping in her house tonight.
Me: nope you will sleep alone..
Abayomi: you trust dis your witch-craft o, na you go sleep alone, better go beg Acho…
Me:..lol..you go see na..
I picked my phone and dialed a number
Me: Toun…are you home, I broke up with Acho…I need your support. I am heartbroken.
After receiving sympathy from her, she hung up..
Abayomi’s phone rang..
Abayomi: baby what’s up…..
…..baby are you serious?
……baby she is not heartbroken, she is drinking Gordon spark here, flexing…
…..baby na…I need you tonight…
……Toun don’t do…
Toun hung up.
He looked at me and swore plenty in Yoruba.
Me: I guess you are sleeping alone?
Abayomi: demonic girl
Me: heheheheheheehehehe
Toun: I am so sorry about Acho, so that guy cheated on you?
Those were the first words she said I as entered her room. In as much as I wasn’t heartbroken, I wanted to talk to somebody about Timi. Toun like Abayomi had been friends with me since I was at 100L, they knew how it started, they also knew how it stopped happening.
I was sitting in class when noticed a boy was staring at me. I tried ignoring him but he didn’t stop, it seemed he was looking for my attention. I decided to steal bolder glances at the stranger. Whenever he caught my eyes, he blew kisses. After a while I started laughing, he was laughing too. Though I must admit that he looked easy in the eyes and Timi was fine mehnnnn. He had baby-like features. His afro was black and his shirt, chinos pants and loafers looked smooth. Suddenly students started moving to their sits, signaling the arrival of a lecturer.
Lecturer: Timi! What are you doing here, aint you an economics student?
Timi: mummy oh! I was missing you, that your sweet smile…I had to follow you from main campus to mini-campus.
He screamed back at her, she laughed so also most of the students in the auditorium. She evicted him from the class, I noticed a couple of girls winking at him as he walked out. He blew me one last kiss when he noticed I was still looking at him. Toun was sitting beside me and was very excited
Toun: that boy is fine o, babe don’t dull o..
Me: I don’t like fine boys, they have too much wahala.
Toun: commot dere, you dey fear heartbreak.
I am not sure I heard anything the lecturer said, the boy with the blowing kisses kept clouding my mind. After lectures as I strolled out with Toun, I saw him standing at the corridor. Fine as a button! The boy had been waiting for me. I felt good.
Timi: Fine girl, how was lectures?
Toun left me without as much as excuse me.
Me: fine
Timi: I am Timi by the way..
Me: hello Timi by the way
He laughed so loud, his voice, his dimples… were beautiful
Timi: what’s your name?
Me: Tana
By this time he was beside me, looking at me like he was searching for something. I liked the perfume he wore, and the way he licked his red lips when he spoke.
Timi: Oluwatana can I buy you lunch?
Me: I am Igbo
Timi: Tanachukwu can I buy you lunch?
I laughed, I was defenseless…my brain said “play hard to get”….
Me: No problem…
He took my hand and led me to the cafeteria like we didn’t just meet me some moments ago. After a while, I couldn’t stop myself from holding him too, first gently….then firmly….we fit effortlessly. I enjoyed the glances people threw at us. he didn’t need to ask me out, I believe we started dating during that walk to the cafeteria.

Toun: gist me now, what happened?
Me: forget that guy dear
Toun: but you said you are heartbroken, or were yoy lying as Abayomi said?
Me: nope, though I am not heartbroken..i am scared
Toun: Talk to me jare, is Acho threatening you?
Me: this is not about Iheanacho, it’s about Timi.
Toun: what about Timi?
Me: Those computer science guys that want to sponsor our election insisted that kofo shouldn’t be our campaign manager, they insisted on Timi as one of the conditions for sponsorship.
Toun: eeeeeyahhhh poor kofo, and she liked the position o…she is a hard worker.
Sometimes I wish I could tell angels to help me slap stupidity out of some people, this poor girl didn’t know kofo was working harder on her boyfriend.
Me: true, very hardworking girl..such a pity.
Toun: what will you do now, have you guys been keeping in touch?
Me: no, I try to avoid all contacts. There was a time I could have done juju for that guy to die
Toun: is it that serious?
There were a couple of things I didn’t tell anybody, including Toun and her boyfriend Abayomi. The only thing they knew was that Timi and I were no more in a relationship; they even believed I called it off though I told them it wasn’t so. Everything was okay, I was having the time of my life, all my prior relationships were s--t compared to Timi. He was wonderful and always seemed to get me, we were the envy of a lot of people, including my igbo colleagues that felt I was blind. Then he just called me one evening and told me we couldn’t see each other anymore. I though he was joking, one of his expensive jokes that everybody knew him for, so I ignored him. Only for me to go to his house and he insisted that it was so. I kept asking him what I had done wrong. Did he hear anything…did I disrespect him, I even called his siblings…all to no avail. After somedays of no word from him I got angry and decided to forget about him, but it was impossible. I saw Timi in everything, I deleted his number but I had it stuck in my brain. I threw away the PS2 he had gotten me for my birthday. A month later I went to him and was on my knees…I begged him to forgive me for what I knew not, I cried on his floor…it was unbearable. He just stared at me, he didn’t utter a word, until I stood up, dusted my skirt and left.
I reminded myself I was the daughter of Chief Dike.
That was 2006 April, this is 2007 and I still remember some of the moments, like when he bought me an arsenal jersey with number 1 crested on it, it was nice. I have never stopped supporting arsenal even after he left me.
Toun: you guys won’t be seeing every time na, after the elections you go your separate ways, moreover I leant he is dating that Annie, the one in micro-biology. I hate that girl ehn…too proud.
I had also heard that he was dating her, It wasn’t my business though, I thought Annie was a girl that carried herself well, I am not sure that was being too proud
Me: you are right sha, after 6weeks, it will be over.
Toun: so tell me about Acho, what happened?
Me: he started sleeping with Yewande, mass-comm department, but its not his fault sha, I caused it.
Toun: how, you are the victim here, not him!
Looool…you go fear woman rights leader na….
Me: its me really, I starved him of affection..and later s-x..
Toun: its not like I f--k Abayomi everytime he is h---y, sometimes they need the chill pill..
Me: you won’t understand…anyways he is gone.
Toun: so what are you going to do now?
Me: I am going to focus on the elections and my studies, lord knows I have a lot on my plate.
Toun: what of Timi?
Me: I will figure that out…come and put prison break for me, Abayomi says you have season 2..
Toun: yes…yes…Michael Scoffield is so handsome…lets watch!
Yes he is handsome I said to myself…. but Timi is beautiful.
Toun doesn’t know how to make noodles.
The watery mess in front of me irritated me, even the egg was not boiled well. I knew if I complained she would say she doesn’t wanna kill the protein. All her attention was on the series, I watched prison break mainly because of Tee-bag. I liked his diction and the way he flicked his eyes when he wanted to do something evil.
My phone rang…
Abayomi: evil pikin
Me: presido
Abayomi: ermmm, how are you, hope you have not killed my angel?
Me: your angel is fine o..why are you calling me sef, call her now
Abayomi: ode, I called because Timi wants your number, he said he doesn’t have this line
Me: Does he really need my number. Isn’t yours enough?
Abayomi: you know you are in charge of the campaign committee..you guys will walk directly together
Me: oh well, give him. At least it means we wont need to see except very necessary
Abayomi: exactly, like the rally tomorrow at Shokas, Ijebu-igbo…that’s very necessary
Me: give him my number…
Abayomi: give your phone to the lady in the room
Me: what am i?
Abayomi: witch
I passed on the phone to Toun, and laughed at the thought that the both of them would probably be having s-x now if not for me…then I thought of s-x…then I thought of Timi…I remembered the first time..
We had just been dating for 3 weeks then and things were going at its own pace. We had gone to Sagamu for a friend’s wedding, one our way back, it rained bitterly. With his rickety Mazda 626 refusing to start at the right occasion, we had hitched a ride to Ago-iwoye via Ikenne-Remo. After dropping me in my house, he started to leave, I knew I ought to have allowed him to leave but It was so cold. I begged him to stay the night. Lying beside him that night felt so good, the only warmth I felt was when I held him. He started telling me jokes; later we were making fun of the people at the wedding. Then he brought out a bottle of wine we had smuggled from the wedding and toasted to me saying “ to the most beautiful girl”. He drank some and offered me some but I declined. The only alcohol I took was Gordon spark and palm-wine. But he insisted and I have never been able to tell him no.. But I took too much a gulp and couldn’t swallow it, so he attempted to assist me reduce the quantity in my mouth by using his mouth to drain mine. Lawd! His lips tasted so good…then we started kissing. We kissed till there was no alcohol in my mouth, then he licked my lips, he licked my neck…all I could do was moan. I could feel the bristles of his day old beard on my neck as he kissed my shoulder blade. I pulled up the short gown that stood as my nightie, so he could continue, I didn’t want him to stop…I had never felt like that before. My n-----s were so hard they were almost painful, till the warmth of his mouth enveloped them. I pulled his shirt and started fumbling with his belt, why should a guy’s belt be this difficult?. He asked if I was sure I wanted to go there…I said yes.. When his buckle came off and I pulled down his boxers, I could see his d--k in the dark. I didn’t know what to do at that point, I was dripping wet and I wasn’t thinking straight. He pulled off my panties and ran his fingers on my wetness…his fingers separated the lips and rubbed against my clits, I screamed… then gently he started kissing my navel and rib-cages. I rested my back on the bed and stretched my hand until I got hold of his d--k; I spread my legs and guided it to my V… He stopped me again and asked if I was sure…I told him to shut up and stop talking… he verified I was sufficiently wet by running his hands on me again before entering me…
Before deflowering me….
Toun: why are you not eating?
Me: this your rubbish indomie
Toun: you cannot appreciate anything in your life
Me: lol
Toun: Ab was telling me about Uche..
Me: yes o..he said he is representing a client, that is ready to pay a s--t-load of money
Toun: I don’t like that Uche boy, he taxes freshers anyhow…very notorious
Me: what his clients want sef is too much ahn ahn…game centre and Cd selling monopolies.
Toun: I am not comfortable about it and I told Abayomi..
Me: yeah, I don’t like it also, but I think your boyfriend might want to accept it.
Toun: he sounded so over the phone…how is National doing?
Me: only God knows were that boy is getting his money from, everywhere it is National!
Toun: you guys have to step up o..
I sighed..
I attempted to sleep but all I could think about was tomorrow at Shokas…I will have to be with Timi. I was going to blank him, everything would be official, I hope he doesn’t bring Annie along though.
Me: Toun, I want to sleep..oya off your television
Toun: oh…that Michael is so smart..he will break-out…I tell you!
My phone rang…
Me: hello,
Caller: hey

His reply coincided with my brain recognizing his voice…
Me: oh..
Caller: its Timi

The Devil who loved me - Part 5

The Devil who loved me - Episode 5
By noon most of the girls we were expecting where at mini-campus, we had rented gigantic speakers and the trucks that we would use for the rally, 90% of the girls were dressed as instructed while the guys wore whatever they chose. Abayomi called to inform me that he,Timi and Kofo had gone to bring the Dj. Toun was sitted all pretty beside me, I couldn’t help but wonder why Abayomi would be straffing kofo.
Me: how are you and Abayomi?
Toun: how do you mean?
Me: I mean your relationship…you guys seem to understand eachother
Toun: as a matter of fact we do…
Toun’s dad was a judge, I think it kinda took its toll on her. She wasn’t someone who pretended. She tells you as it is. That was probably why we remained close friends, though Abayomi was f-----g Kofo, I knew he was crazy about her.
Toun: is this a backlash from you and Acho?
Me: no dear…and how is the s-x?
Toun: normal na….when I am h---y, he is always ready..
Me: and when he is h---y?
Toun: he better be lucky I am lucky at the same time or all he gets is a Bj.
Me: looool…Acho always complained I never gave him Bj
Toun: why didn’t you?
Me: babe, even to kiss him after a while was hard, I wonder if the boy give me something chop
Toun: naaa, you just fell out of love
Me: hmmmmm, takea of Abayomi o… he is cool
Toun: I remember those days I suspected both of you having something together…I was so stupid
Me: yeah you were, Abayomi na my blood
Toun: you like him more than you like me abi?
Me:I am sorry….yes..
Toun: don’t be sorry…I am glad I am not the only one that has his back.
That was when I saw him, Abayomi was describing something to him with some seriousness but all he did was smile. How many times did he undress me with that smile…….. he was holding a whistle, his afro was well groomed, he stole my breathe away…
Abayomi shouted from a distance.
Abayomi: see my lovely ladies!
Most of the girls walked up to them, some chanting “presido” others saying a word or too.. I noticed most of the girls that went to Timi, hugged him before talking to him…stupid girls
Toun: Tana, just control yourself, you are very strong
Me: thanks dear, I don’t have a problem
I haven’t spoken face to face with him since the last time I embarrassed myself on his floor. But I was ready for this
Toun: baby whats up?
Abayomi: my sunshine, I missed you so much mehnnnn….see your hot legs…omo
Me: Abayomi, my own legs nko?
Abayomi: flee from me devil..
Me: loool
We hugged, then I stepped back..Timi was already beside me
Timi: howfar?
Me: good
Timi: you ready?
Me: you can see we are..
Timi: we would be going to iyalaje first, then itamerin, ajebo, oru, ijebu-igbo before we come back to olopomerin then we assemble at mini-campus again.
Me: ok
Timi: we would share fliers while we dance on the truck and surrounding it…it will move 30mph..
Me: any refreshments for the girls?
Timi: pure water, soft drinks and gala..
Me: good..
Timi: you and Abayomi will ride in the truck behind ours
Me: oh..we won’t ride in the same truck?
Timi: nope…..are you disappointed?
Me: ….lol..you wish…
Thankfully Abayomi encroached in our space…
Abayomi: my people…lets go…it’s time to dance..
Timi: nkem, are you ready?
Me: I am not nkem…I am Tana…and as I told you earlier…we are ready
Timi: am sorry, old habits die hard
Me: whateva…if you can’t call me Tana, call me Tee like everybody else..
Timi: aii ma.
Me: good
As soon as our trucks started moving, the music began, loud and ear piercing, it took me a while to get used to it. Indigenes of the town lined the streets, first in amazement, later they danced along with us. Abayomi stood and acknowledged cheers from students living nearby, some even hopped into the truck to join us..when I heard my name from some quarters, I waved too. The turn out from people was more than I had expected, I could see Abayomi was happy, Toun came beside me to whisper in my ears
Toun: your boy is doing a good job o…
Me: he is not my boy…anybody can pull off a rally
Toun: why didn’t kofo do this earlier?
Lord knows I wanted to say “she was busy f-----g your boyfriend”, but I kept quiet until something caught my attention. The cheers had grown louder. Timi, had gotten down from his truck, he was now in front of the motorcade, dancing to “konga”. I remembered he was a good dancer, I also remembered that girls always brought their bum-bum to his crotch whenever they had the opportunity. This was no different, we were at Itamerin, and Timi’s outrageous moves had turned the rally into a carnival, the street was filled with people dancing away.
Toun: me I am going to dance o…lets go down!
Me: stay with your boyfriend jor…
She pointed at figure in the distance..i had initially thought her boyfriend was was on the truck, waving like I though a president should, I saw the madman, dancing “komole” just by where a bus-stop was erected. Even cars passing by were “honking” in using to the music. When I turned back to my dear friend Toun, she was off the truck…dancing “yahooze” like her father wasn’t a f-----g Judge! How can she leave me on the truck?..judas Iscariot Toun.
Timi: come down and join the dance, we are here because of you
I turned back to face the boy that had haunted my night all those months
Me: I am good here
Timi: come on, don’t be a snob..
I just ignored him like he wasn’t there anymore; luckily a girl came and yanked him away. It wasn’t long before we started moving again, it ws like Ajebo people had been waiting for us, cause they joined immediately. The dressing of the girls was such an appetizer, guys left everything they were suppose to do and joined us like zombies…when we got to Shokas, the crowd had gotten slightly out of control, the music had taken a life of its own…Abayomi’s name was everywhere…the dancing on the streets was more than what we experienced when Michael Adenuga came to bury his mum in the town. I was moving slowly to the beats when Abayomi came and scooped me off my feet, in no time I was dancing with him, a couple of girls came around us and started hailing, Abayomi was happy…I was happy.. Within the blink of an eye, the person dancing with me was Timi..i wanted to step back but people were staring and he knew it. He had that cute boyish smile on his face, his hands were on my waist…I didn’t want to dance anymore but the d--n waist was moving to the rhythm of his hand…I wasn’t thinking. I was just dancing…he smiled…he was winning…I stopped and joined Toun with some girls that were sharing drinks. That was when the first shot deafened us all..
I was rooted to the spot, I was scared, people started running everywhere. Another shot was fired, some guys all dressed in the same color in a Bmw came down, their faces mean as hell. I couldn’t find anybody…no Toun…no Abayomi..even Kofo was not seen…then someone came and pulled my hands. He was running, I had no option than to run along. He didn’t let go, we were running back into the streets of Shokas..i couldn’t run fast enough, so Timi carried me…my head rested on his chest. His heartbeat was loud. He entered a hall that had “june 12” written on it and screamed for one “Bode” to open his door. The residents of shokas were scared, I doubted if Bode would open his door, until an opened door signified that he actually did. Timi dropped me gently on the bed and started to go out the door
Me: Timi! Where are you going?
Timi: I have to go look for Abayomi..he is my responsibility now, Bode will take care of you
He was out of the door when I shouted again
Me: Timi!
Timi: yes!
Me: please be careful.
I must have slept because I woke up to Abayomi’s tap.
Abayomi: time to go home sleeping beauty.
Me: oh thank God you are safe, what of Toun?
Abayomi: she is fine, let’s go dear.
I wanted to ask about Timi, but it would have sounded weird. It was about 6pm when Abayomi for me. I recognized the rickety Mazda immediately we stepped outside. Toun was seated at the back, Abayomi joined her. Timi opened the door of the front seat for me…why didn’t Abayomi just sit in front with him…stupid boy
Timi: how are you?
I saw genuine care in his eyes when he asked that question. I had been scared, I didn’t know what would have happened if he hadn’t come for me.
Me: I am fine
Toun: we were looking all over for you until Timi told us you were safe.
Abayomi: yeah, we were..
I know a reasonable person would have told Timi thank you , but I wasn’t ready to be reasonable with this boy that scarred my heart.
Abayomi: Timi, you get any idea wetin cause those people to throw way like that
Timi: baba, I no know o…you will need protection though, atleast till the election is over.
Toun: baby, I think you should consider those people o…them uche
Abayomi: yes babe, I thought about it..what do you think Timi?
Me: no way… we cannot be coerced to dine with the devil
Timi was smiling..
Me: why are you smilling?
Timi: I always liked your strength..
Yeah right, after rescuing me from fright some hours ago….mumu boy
Abayomi: what do you think jare Timi?
Timi: I will go with Tana on this one..
Abayomi: I don’t know what else I expected from you sef,,,mchwww..Toun baby…kiss me jor..
Toun: how does kiss enter this matter now?
Abayomi: baby I thought I would lose you…I realized I havnt even kissed you today..
Timi: you both should get a room o…
Toun: babe no kisses jor..
Before we knew it, both of them were kissing at the back
Toun: I love you boo
Abayomi: me too dear…
I caught Timi stealing a glance at me…..

The Devil who loved me - Part 6

The Devil who loved me - Episode 6
In mini-campus, the gun shots were all they were talking about, though we hadn’t recorded any casualty, students exaggerated the entire incidence; some saying as many as 3 students were killed. Since it was Monday morning, I tried forgetting about everything elections and focus on my studies. I had Bot-305 from 9-11, Toun as usual was beside me gisting me on how she and Abayomi spent it. The lecturer was running late as usual when we heard beatings of drums from outside the auditorium, then some students danced into the lecture hall. At the middle of the dancing was National. He was dressed in buba and sokoto..He went to the front of the auditorium to address us..
“Great Nigerian students!”
“great!”, students replied
“I am here to give you important reasons why you should vote for me as the next SUG president of this great institution. Just like you, I am tired of the lies, corruption and incompetence that have corroded the institution known as the SUG. I am fed up of the students not having a voice to fight for them when the authorities come up with painful policies. I cannot sleep at night because of the insecurity the entire student body faces, our lecture halls are overcrowded, our library books are outdated, and we don’t have a proper school transport system”
Students were excited; he had gotten their attention…
“it is a shame that we don’t have a school hostel, even with the amount of money the government is pumping into the school, it’s a pity that our graduates might have to wait 3/4 yrs. before they can get their certificates..i say all these must stop!!!!!!!!”
The students started banging the table. They were excited..
“I am your man, my government will serve you, we will listen to you…we are not far away from you…most especially….we are you!!!!”
Students couldn’t take it anymore; they lifted National up high, shouting “you have won”
I looked at this foolish students in my class, have they forgotten I was running for vice-president for Abayomi?..i mentally noted all the chief dancers in my class..
Toun: see this people o…don’t they know my boyfriend is running again?
Me: don’t mind them o..
I picked up my phone and dialed Abayomi’s number
Me: boss, you have to come to mini-campus o, National is campaigning here…abeg come
Abayomi: I am coming, call Timi, and tell him to meet me there in 15 min
Okay, it’s been more than a year I had dialed those digits, I hadn’t forgotten any digit
Me: come to mini-campus, Abayomi wants you here with him..
Timi: I am here.
Me: where?
Timi: at the back of the hall you are seated in..
I turned back to verify his claim…true to his word, he was there, in a white shirt and blue jeans..
Timi: I have been following National’s train. Having a feel of him
Me: and what do you think, Do you think we still have a chance?
Timi: you have me..you always have a chance
Me: whatever mehn….hope you have propped Abayomi for the speech he must deliver..
Timi: not at all…I have other plans..
National and his people were already leaving the auditorium, with a thunderous applause in their wake….
Timi: that’s my cue…I am next…you should be ready
Me: next for wha…..
He hung up…I saw him go to the front of the stage…Toun looked at me surprised…
Timi started..
“Greatest Nigerian students!”
“great!” students replied
“greatest Gbo Gbo”
“Gbo Gbo”, they replied
“greatest gba gba”
“Gba Gba” they replied
‘Greatest shhhhhhhhhh”
“shhhhhhhhh”…
There was pin drop silence…then Timi started talking.
Most students wanted to hear what Timi had to say, they knew National, they knew Abayomi…they knew Timi was associated with a candidate, they wanted to hear what he had for them
“I am standing here not on behalf of myself but on behalf of people who really want change in this school. I am not going to sugar-coat any words or give promises, I will tell you about this people and why they deserve a chance to serve you.”
With the silence in the hall, you could hear if two mosquitoes were straffing..
“what is the biggest problem we face as a student body?…some of you say security, others say hostels..etc..you are not far from it, but we think the biggest problem we face as a student body is the right to be a student of this great institution. We are all seated in this auditorium…but how many of us have completed the payment of our fees?. Many brilliant people among us have no idea if they would be allowed to write the examinations due to non-payment of fees, the economy of Nigeria is bad, our parents are doing their best…but some of them can’t afford it because it is too expensive”
A couple of “yes”…”beeni”..could be heard.
“this is 2007, you are still being forced to buy books that are free online, this is 2007, the campus doesn’t have a wireless network, even schools not as prestigious as this have that!”
Students started clapping
“If with the limited resources provided to you, you guys can still excel tremendously in your various fields, imagine if you had the required resources!”
Students were on their feet..clapping in unision
“ imagine if you didn’t have to worry about excessive school fees only about your studies and exams!”
“solidarity forever….” Hymns started in the background
“imagine if everybody was free to roam the streets of Ago-iwoye, ijebu-oru and ijebu-igbo anytime, because the school has its own police station, roaming the streets …providing security”..
I didn’t know what Timi had smoked to the lecture hall…but he was on fire
“lemme tell you about somebody, when we were in 100L, during Chemistry practical exams, we had limited amount of Petri-dishes and conical-flasks…the department said there was nothing they could do about it until they got resources from the school, so the exams was to be post-poned.., an anonymous student went to Lagos that very afternoon and by the next day, brought this items for the chemistry-lab. This is not hear say…this student gave me the items to deliver myself”
Many students remembered the episode but when the items were brought in, they had imagined the school had rescued them. Ofcuz I remembered the episode…
“National and his colleagues held this mic some minutes ago to address you, what they didn’t know was that this wonderful mic that we use today without saying “testing testing 123” like before was provided by a student anonymously, when the department started dragging their feet on getting a new one”
Astonishing looks spread across the hall
“though this person would like to remain anonymous…I refuse to let it remain so!”
The students started clamouring “Yes! Yes! Yes!”
“I present to you a girl, who has never waited for people to hand her things, but have instead provided things for people…for the hungry…she gave food…for the distressed she gave a listening ear…and for the dancers…if you were with us on Saturday she gave music!”
People started laughting..
“and most especially…her most important gift…was her love. She is running as the vice-president for Abayomi… I present to you Ms Tana Dike!”
The applause was so loud, i didn’t hear on time that my name was being chanted…
“Tana!….Tana!….Tana!….all eyes were on me…Timi stretched his hand beckoning on me to come to the front. Even Toun was cheering me up ..
When I got to where he was, I know a reasonable person was supposed to say “thank you”, but I didn’t…instead I hugged him..
i hugged Timi..
Abayomi didn’t need to utter a word when he breezed into the hall, he got cheers and a lot of unknown handshakes. He came beside me, grinning sheepishly..
Abayomi: what are all these about
Me: ask your campaign manager…he swept everybody off their feet
Abayomi: including you?
Me: yes..
He stupidly winked at me.
Dr Nnamdi, the lecturer taking Bot 305 came into the auditorium, bringing to an end a very eventful morning.
After lectures I proceeded to the kakadu, Oru, to have a meeting with Abayomi as regards the incidence that happened during the rally on Saturday. He was seated with a bottle of dry gin and a bottle of coke
Me: drinking so early..what is happening boss?
Abayomi: we have to sort out our security
Me: yes I agree..
Abayomi: what do you want to drink?
Me: Schweppes lemon..
Abayomi: I heard it aint good for your health or so
Me: I don’t have balls mahn….plus I think it’s just rumor’s. No medical fact.
Abayomi: I think we should take uche’s offer..
Me: I am not comfortable with it
Abayomi: I listen to your fears regularly and you know it, but I think this risk is worth it, we have just five weeks before the election…we need the money and the security
Me: but the monopoly is what I don’t like, what of other people that woukld want to start up their own game centres or cd stands?
Abayomi: how many game centres do you want in a campus sef?..this is a campus o..
Me: Abayomi, you have the right to accept their offer without asking for my attention, what is it you want?
Abayomi: I want us to reach an agreement together
Me: you won’t get that. I am sorry..
Abayomi: Uche gave me till this afternoon, or they would shift camp to National’s..
Me: do what you have to to..i won’t support it..
Abayomi: please na..
Me: don’t beg me jor..i might not agree with you. But you know I will have your back
Abayomi sipped his drink cooly, looked at me for a while then picked up his phone..
Abayomi( on phone): uche howfar?
…..mehn…I dey o..
….yes I just finished talking to my people now…
…….no deal bro…the monopoly thing is the sticky part..
…..yes I am sure
……I am sorry bro..
…no problem…National is all yours…
….i will take my chance bro…
He hung up..
Though I felt bad I had put Abayomi in a tight position…he reminded me why he was my best friend.

The Devil who loved me - Part 7

The Devil who loved me - Episode 7
I was tired with the amount of messages I was getting from Acho, telling me he has broken up with Yewande and it was the devil and shii.. I reminded myself that I would have to have a frank discussion with him. Another thought that crossed my mind was Timi. I was stupid to have hugged him, now that’s all I can think of. Toun and I had agreed to go share fliers at bele , which was the most crowded hangout spot in Ago. I didn’t like the idea of visiting Ijebu-igbo so soon after the fracas, Timi and Abayomi would pick us up and drop us at bele while they proceeded to Ijebu-igbo.
I kept convincing myself I wasn’t dressing so nice to impress Timi, this was how I dressed often..but did I use lip-gloss at night?…no…I cleaned it. Toun was lying in my bed, all she wore was a tank top and a mini-skirt. Still she looked hot!..Abayomi was a fool o..in fact I was gonna talk to him.
Toun: I have something to tell you Tee.
Me: what?
Toun: someone told me Abayomi has something to do with Kofo
I didn’t like where the conversation was going
Me: something like what
Toun: that she was his side-chic
Me: where did you hear this ?
Toun: Evelyn, the one studying French.
Me: that girl can say rubbish ehn…don’t just believe people o…
Toun: I just need you to find out if anything is going on…I know you like Abayomi but I am your friend also..
I seriously hated where we were now…
Me: I am the wrongest person babe, I can never rat on Abayomi..
Toun: even for me?
Me: yes
Toun: I always liked your bluntness, but right now I hate you
Me: I know honey, you will like me soon!
Toun: I guess I have to find out myself
Me: lets get ready for bele..
Toun: yes o…amma shake my bumbum
Me: looool…
]The knocker of my door was Abayomi, he didn’t even pay attention to me as I opened the door, and instead he pounced on his girlfriend. I wish I had the opportunity to warn him.
Toun: hold you kiss
Abayomi: what is this? We weren’t late now; Timi had to fuel his car
Toun: whats my business if you are late? Only God knows were those lips have been
Abayomi: babe are you hungry…Tana why didn’t you give her excellency food?
Me: na una sabi, lets go jor..
Timi was waiting in the car when we got there, thankfully Abayomi sat infront with him.
Toun: oga Timi, when you go change this car now?
Timi: me and this car have been through the good and the bad..she is my buddy…
Toun: abi you are waiting for the 200,786 naira..
Everybody laughed…including me..Timi looked at me and winked…i yawned like I was bored all of a sudden. He didn’t seem to mind…then my thoughts switched to one time in this car…..
I had late lectures that ended 6pm, I called my then boyfriend, Timi to come pick me up. He had been looking particularly cool that day, as usual whenever I had late lectures, he brought me food and we would eat in the car together, my favorite was chips and fish, and he sure knew it. That evening, he drove me to a secondary school field close to olopomerin…at that time most students had gone home. He pulled back his car seat, wound up the car windows and pulled me to his laps. He didn’t kiss me on the lips, he went to my neck…pulled my top up and pulled a cup of my bra down. After sucking my nips till I started groaning, he lifed my skirt, shifted my white g-string to the side and stuck his finger in. I started moving up and down his finger…after a while, I brought out his d--k, while my mouth enveloped his cape..my left hand teased his balls..his hands grabbed my butt from beneath the skirt and gave it a sweet squeeze..i gasped, I was shaking..shivering. Then he lifted me by the lap till my nips was same level with his lips..he didn’t lick it for so long before lowering me on his d--k. My moistness and warmth spread to accept his hardness.. I wrapped my hands around his neck….and started riding him like a cow-girl…
Toun: Tana!
Me: what?
Toun: what are you thinking about…mtchwww..where should they drop us?
Me: front of Best care hospital…we will walk to bele from there..
It was more likely to see some students at bele than in their lecture hall, while cars of different makes were parked on the road, students holding bottles of liquor and red cups of liquor filled the bar area and the streets. Sharing the fliers at bele was very easy, most of them just collected the fliers and shove it in their pockets, some teased with the usual “fine girls”…” ”mehn..see that yansh”. It didn’t take long before Toun saw a group of guys staying in her area and went to meet them..It didn’t take 5 seconds that Acho appeared at my side..he was on a white tommy top, holding a bottle of calypso..
Acho: babe..how are you?
Me: I am fine Acho dear..how are you?
Acho: I am fine…how is the campaign going?
Me: we thank God
Acho: you havnt been replying my messages o..
Me: sorry..you know I have been busy..
Acho: look I am sorry…
Me: don’t be sorry…I have forgotten about it
Acho: does that mean we can’t start again?
Me: no sweetie, that ship has sailed..
Acho: but I miss you…your smile..your body..when we are making..

The Devil who loved me - Part 8

The Devil who loved me - Episode 8
My door was ajar when I got home, I was sure I didn’t leave it so. I placed my ear close to the slightly opened door for any sound, there was none. As usual there wasn’t electricity so I couldn’t see much, but when I put on my rechargeable lantern..what I saw was shocking..
My television had a hole in the middle, with wood from my broken wall hanger in it. My clothes had been slashed, I could smell something really awful but I couldn’t find the location. I sat down to place a call to Abayomi..then I saw it. Whoever had broken in must have been suffering from dysentery. My bed was splattered with human dung and urine. I placed the call..
Me: Abayomi, somebody broken into my apartment
Abayomi: I think you should come to my house
Me: I say my house was burgled and all u can say is that I come to your house?
Abayomi: Just come
He hung up..
Toun was at the door when I got to his apartment, she led me inside where I met a worried looking Abayomi and Timi. I quickly explained to them what happened to my apartment.
Abayomi: Timi’s apartment was ransacked too..
Me: your bed had dung on it?
I faced Timi..
Timi: No, I think he emptied his stomach on yours.
Me: what did they do to your apartment?
Timi: my laptop is gone, the tap in my bathroom was left on and the water channeled to my room, my rug was torn with different patches of holes in it..
I laughed…c’mmon it was funny..
Abayomi: I called Uche, we have to meet him at Aiyegbami in 30 minutes.
He looked at me, his eyes daring me to refuse. I looked at Timi, his face was blank. Toun hugged me from behind…
Me: Alright..
Aiyegbami had this eerie weirdness about it, you seldomly saw girls loitering around at night, it was more silent than other parts of Ago-iwoye. Even the scanty bars that were opened weren’t playing loud music. Aiyegbami was one of the places they warned you about when you gained admission into the institution. The house in which we were to meet Uche was a three bedroom flat. It must have been built in the mid 80’s, it had the architecture. Guys were infront of the building, most of them topless, cups of ‘shepe’ was in abundant, while tobacco filled the air. A small looking boy of no more than 18 came to us
Boy: who una dey find
Abayomi: Uche
Boy: wetin happen?
Abayomi: him say make we come block am for here.
Boy: wait, I dey come, make I go ask am.
Somehow, being alone with Abayomi here started to look like a bad idea. I saw the tall frame of Uche emerge from the door, he had a stick of cigarette sticking from his mouth.
Uche: my people how una dey?
Abayomi: we dey o…howfar?
I didn’t bother with the pleasantries. That I had agreed to go along with him didn’t mean I would be all smiley. Uche led us into the sitting room where a lovely pool table was, there was a two-sitter cushion by the left, I didn’t bother waiting for uche to tell me to sit, I sat. He and Abayomi stood by the pool table to discuss.
Abayomi: hope you haven’t spoken with National yet?
Uche: No, we would meet tomorrow though
Abayomi: is there a way we can work through this?
Uche: what are you suggesting?
Abayomi: reduction in the money you want to sponsor us with, so you might not have complete monopoly?
Uche: what has changed from the last time we spoke?
Abayomi: my partner and I just think we need some kind of security..
Uche: is there something we should know about?
I looked at Uche, if he had anything to do with the incidence, he didn’t show it.
Abayomi: not at all, except ofcuz what happened at the rally.
Uche: yes I heard about that. I wouldn’t be able to decide on what you are offering, I would have to discuss with my client.
Me: that’s another requirement, we need to meet this client..
Uche smiled…
Uche: the funny thing was that he told me you would say this..he is inside with a visitor, he would come out soon..
Abayomi and Uche started discussing about politics, from Osoba to Gbenga Daniel and how PDP was going to rule Nigeria for 50yrs. They were arguing when a girl came out of one of the rooms, with the way she walked and how her hair looked, she had definitely just be f----d..i knew her. She was one of those so called big girls that spent most of their time at Gate-way with politicians. Coming outside from the same room where she had exited from was the guy that had been with Uche at Bele, he had remarkably small eyes, very dark with a sharp-low hair-cut. He was on singlet and boxers but that didn’t make him any less charismatic, the way he walked was almost like he was a model, but there was a darkness about him that doesn’t suit a model. He didn’t bother escorting his f--k-mate, instead he gently came to sit down beside me.
Uche: Abayomi, Tana this is my client
Abayomi: bro whatsup..nice to meet you..
Me: hi
It might be an aftershave or something, but he was smelling so good and fresh…
Client: I have been wanting to meet you guys, I am Jafar.
I had a couple of questions, like why didn’t he allow us meet him earlier or if he had planned all these, instead I asked
Me: you smell nice
Jafar smiled at me like I was a kid and didn’t really know what I was talking about. He stretched his hand and uche brought him a stick of Benson and Hedges.
Abayomi: Jafar, are you a student of the institution?
He seemed as if he didn’t hear the question because it took quite some time before he answered, and when he spoke, it was like a whisper
Jafar: Oga Presido, I am a student of your institution
Abayomi: what department bros?
I wasn’t focusing on the question and answers, his hairy legs were catching my attention.
Jafar: Political Science..
Abayomi: I don’t know why I haven’t seen you in main-campus before.
Jafar smiled shyly, if Abayomi had insulted him, he didn’t show it
Jafar: I see you everytime, I am what you will call…incognito
His tommy boxer short was black, rhymed with the sheen of his skin…
Jafar: Uche you are a bad host, you for give our guests drink na..
Abayomi: I am good..
Jafar: what of you my lady?
As he turned facing me, his knees brushed mine…I cold sensation sped through my spine
Me: I took something on my way here
Jafar: aii, I have to show you guys something…follow me..
I could not describe Jafar as handsome, he was just a synonym for swag, he told us to follow him, and like me I was sure Abayomi didn’t consider declining. He led us into down the corridor into the room the girl had come out from. The room was dark, smelled fruity; his fan was at full throttle. The click that brought on the light exposed a well arranged room, spacious, with a portrait of fela smoking cannabis on the wall. Looking at his bed, I was shocked; another girl was beneath the sheets.
Jafar: Seun!
Seun(the gir): J…baby…….what…is…
I recognized Seun , she was one of those butty micro-biology girls…
Jafar: be kind enough to excuse us, go to ‘bebe’ I would join you there in less than an hour.
He gave her a wad of 500 naira notes from his table, but she rejected it..
Seun: I have money..
She was wearing a see through nightie, full boobs and shaved crotch was free to air, I had to frown out Abayomi before he could disengage his eyes from evil. She picked up her clothes that were on the chair beside the table, kissed Jafar and left.
Jafar: I am sorry for that
Me: it’s alright..
He brought out a sketch of the SUG section at mini-campus, made in pencil, showing where he wanted his restaurant, game and cd shop.
Jafar: as you can see, the proposed sites are hidden from view, if we don’t have sole patronage, we would crash..
Abayomi: we could provide you with vintage points
Jafar: nope, those places highlighted will do just fine
I was sure they wanted to do clandestine things there, who would want his shop in a hidden place..a hidden restaurant?
Jafar: any other person can have their restaurant, but not cd and game centres.
Abayomi: even if we agree to half your offering price..
Jafar: even if you offer me for free…
Me: why do you want your shops in hidden places?
Jafar looked at me, he looked into my eyes like he expected me to get the answers from looking at his..
Jafar: because I want the restaurant to be exclusive and I also want the people coming to play games or buying Cds to feel comfortable doing so without the prying eyes of everybody.
Bullshit! but ofcuz I couldn’t tell me..
Me: okay..
Abayomi: can we sleep on it and call you tomorrow morning?
Jafar: before 6am or no deal…call Uche
He stepped out of the room like he was the visitor, Abayomi looked at me and I stared back..
When we got back to the living room, Uche was shooting pool with another unknown guy..
Abayomi: where is Jafar?
Uche: him don comot
Abayomi: and he just left us in the room?
Uche: no vex..maybe him tell una bye but una no hear
I definitely knew he didn’t say anything..
Abayomi: na wa o..
Uche: him say make I drop una for una crib
Abayomi: we can find our way..
Is this guy mad?..such a wrong time to form macho..in Aiyegbemi?
Me: Uche come and drop us, Abayomi naa…please let him drop us..
If uche wasn’t with us in the room, Abayomi for don hear am for my hand.
Uche: lets go..
I slept in Abayomi’s house. While Toun and I slept in his bedroom, Abayomi slept in his sitting room. He had promised to get someone who would clean up my room . I wondered where Timi was going to sleep. Maybe Annie’s house…most likely Annie’s house.
Thinking of Timi was coming at a regular. All I wanted was for him to tell me why he broke up with me. I wanted to know if it was because of another girl. i wondered if he had heard something or if I had done something. My thoughts switched to Jafar and the uneasy feeling in my gut lingered. I know Abayomi was going to call Uche anytime from now to accept his proposal.
At school every male was a suspected faeces criminal. I somehow couldn’t imagine a girl squatting in my bed to s--t on it. We had free periods after the first lecture, Toun had gone to get us cups of Ice-cream when I got a call
Caller: hello, it’s me Timi
Me: yes?
Timi: was wondering if we could have lunch?
Me: for what?
Timi: just to catch up on old times, it’s been a while we spoke
Me: not interested, I will be very busy.
Timi: why are you being difficult, in the past your stubbornness used to be sexy, now you are just plain mean.
Me: I am mean? Pot calling kettle black
Timi: it’s just lunch dear
Me: I am hanging up if you have nothing else to say
Timi: I have something to say, I miss your plantain and egg.
Me: You are being foolish right now
I hung up
I got a text some minutes later from Abayomi . “I called Uche, I have accepted the deal” , I scrolled down to the end of the message, where the time and date was usually displayed. That was when it hit me, Timi wanted to have lunch with me on his birthday.
Toun: call him and agree for lunch
Me: no I can’t, I am too proud
Toun: so what will you do?
I picked up my phone and sent him a message. “Happy birthday, wishing you the best”
At noon, Toun and I went to the sports cafeteria to eat lunch, their rice and dodo was breathtaking, i still felt guilty that I turned Timi down. Then I saw him walk in with Annie. She was looking as beautiful as ever, wide hips and all.
Toun looked at me with a kind of motherly pity. I tried to ignore them but I had to admit they looked good together. He didn’t see me thankfully, but I think Annie did.
I felt good, very good that he had asked me for lunch before deciding to bring Annie. Or had she rejected before then he asked me before she later accepted?
